Lower cortisol naturally, fix your stress levels, and feel like yourself again in one week
Is anyone else feeling kind of crazy pre-holidays? It can’t just be me. The good news is that you can unfunk (yes, fuNk) yourself in one week with this 7-day plan. You can do these one after the other or spread them out for a longer stress management plan, and do not forget to download the worksheet at the bottom either. I promise it’ll make everything a lot easier.
Day 1: Begin Unfunking with REST
Rest is so important. Way more important than we want to believe. In fact, it is probably impossible to unfunk yourself without resting. Today, prioritize rest with one of these (or make up your own special way of getting restorative downtime):
- Self care night! Spend a little extra time moisturizing, have a delicious dessert, and curl up with a good book or mindless movie. Or a mindless movie and a good book.
- Go to bed EARLY. Do you have a sleep debt? I bet you do! Now’s the time to catch up on it.
- Do nothing. This is especially helpful if you have trouble sleeping. Dedicate some time to non-screen downtime. Doodle, flip through a magazine, or play with pets with no time limit. Enjoy being understimulated!
Day 2: Create something
Creativity hones your intuition and helps you step into your feminine, where you’re free to just be.
- Create a digital or physical collage, maybe even a vision board!
- Try a new recipe and don’t share any of it.
- Create a new outfit using stuff you already own
- Redecorate! This is the perfect time for a new year refresh.
- Make a playlist. One of my favs.
- Do your hair or makeup just to stay in and laze around. Nothing more restorative than full glam and a robe for a few hours, imo.
Day 3: Call on your supports
Think about recent interactions you’ve had that filled your cup. Try and recreate those!
- Call a friend or family member
- Write a letter
- Make spontaneous plans for brunch or shopping
Day 4: Unfunk through self love
Spend some time with yourself! Make sure you finish out the self love session with gratitude for your body, mind, and heart.
- Journal about something positive that makes you feel good about yourself. Write about goals you’ve achieved, characteristics you like about yourself, or fun recent outings
- Take yourself out on a date (solo date ideas for every budget)
Day 5: Try movement to unfunk actively
It wouldn’t be a stress management situation without working in the physical. Once you’ve spent some time on your heart and mind, use this day to go through the BODY for a powerful release.
- Do a workout that makes you feel energized, invigorated, and capable.
- Take a walk in a new park
- Breathing exercises
- Fascial release self-massage
- Stretch
Day 6: PLAY!
It’s so important to let go of productivity as often as possible. It’s actually the secret to being productive.
- Have a solo dance party or dance with a friend
- Cook something without a recipe just to see what you come up with
- Do a dramatic hair and makeup look that you wouldn’t usually go for
- Spend some time with your favorite coloring book
- Go for a barefoot walk if it’s warm
Day 7: Unfunk by getting out of the house
Touch grass. 🙂
- Go out for a meal
- Check out holiday lights in your area
- Feed the birds
- Go on a walk with no plan or destination and see where you end up!
